Meredith Evans

Meadow Ridge Elementary (Plymouth, MN)

My name is Meredith Evans and I am in my 5th year as a Visual Arts teacher as well as Artsonia. I am currently loving introducing my students to the joys of creating a digital art portfolio that they can feel pride in. My students begin to utilize Artsonia from 1st grade, and leave elementary school with a full portfolio as 5th graders! A few of my favorite aspects of Artsonia include reflection through artist statements, family/guardian comments to encourage our young artists, and the visual of progress over perfection for my students in their gallery. Thank you for your support and encouragement of the Visual Arts for our artists!

Meghan Glass

Mercer Area Elementary School (Mercer, PA)

I began teaching in the Mercer Area School District in January of 2012 after receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2010 from Slippery Rock University. I went on to receive my master’s, also from Slippery Rock University in 2017. I enjoy so many various art forms, such as pottery, drawing, and painting. It can be hard to stick to one medium! Teaching is my true passion. I love sharing my love for art history and the arts with my students. I love to teach all different forms of art so that every child can find something that they enjoy. I also find it important to teach that art is a means for change and can bring awareness to many causes. I want my students to know that art can be a therapeutic means of self-expression. I want them to see the beauty of art and how it surrounds us in everything we see, touch, and feel internally on a daily basis.

Angela Harris

Southeast Elementary School (Jenks, OK)

I love teaching art at Jenks Southeast! Artsonia is a great way to celebrate the art created by every child at Southeast. I hope that you enjoy seeing your child's art in our online gallery, in addition to school exhibits.

This is my 25th year teaching art. I love that I get to help children achieve their creative best for my career. Please enjoy viewing the Southeast Artwork here on Artsonia!

Carrie Johnson

Literacy Leadership Technology Academy (Tampa, FL)

Art is one of the places your child comes to express themselves. It's a place to learn the power of perseverance and build self-esteem through trial and error. It's a place to collaborate and learn how to work with others. In short, my classroom is a place where students learn the 4 C's (collaborate, create, communicate, and critical thinking) and become leaders.

Arts education aids students in skills needed in the workplace: flexibility, the ability to solve problems and communicate, the ability to learn new skills, to be creative and innovative, and to strive for excellence.
– Joseph M. Calahan, Director of Cooperate Communications, Xerox Corporation

Robin Kasparian

Hamilton Elementary School (North Kingstown, RI)

My background in art started when I was an art major at Syracuse University. I ultimately became an editorial designer at a few graphic design firms and an Art Director for many magazines in NYC. I also owned my own graphic design studio in Charlotte, NC. Then, when my family was moved to RI, I decided to focus on my other love - teaching art to children. The next logical step was to become a visual arts instructor. I love my job and am motivated every day by the excited smiling faces that enter my classroom and the exceptional artwork that they create! Their love of art at this age makes me want to be the best teacher I can be for them. Thank you for your support!

Bonnie Kulwin

St. Viator Parish School (Las Vegas, NV)

Bonnie received art training at San Jose State University, where she progressed towards a degree in art education. She has also taught art classes for the last 17 years for the city of Henderson Parks and Recreation and has been the art director for St.Viator School’s Art Club Program for the past 18 years.
"I love opening students' eyes to see as an artist sees and to enjoy on a deeper level the beauty around them, from a picturesque sunset to a rusty kettle. Art is a medium that can be enjoyed by everyone, and all have the ability to express themselves artistically when given an opportunity."

Marty Lineberger

Fred L. Wilson Elementary (Kannapolis, NC)

My name is Marty Lineberger and I am the Art Teacher at Fred L Wilson, Global, and Dual Language Elementary School. I have been at Fred L. Wilson Elementary School since 2003 and started my art career in 1997. I enjoy working as a Professional Artist in my studio at home in Spencer North Carolina. I have been creating art since I was in the fourth grade and loving every moment.

I love working with my students and watching them grow as little artists. It is always an exciting time when students create a piece of artwork that makes them excited about art. Working in a global magnet school has allowed me to grow my knowledge of art, artwork, and artist from around the world. To be able to share that knowledge with my students has been a great experience for my teaching career.

Artsonia has been a great experience for myself and for the students. My students use Artsonia to show how their knowledge of art can be used to explain the art lessons taught in class. Parents love Artsonia because they get to see their child grow through their elementary years.

Richard Nowell

Northridge High School (Tuscaloosa, AL)

I have taught art in the Tuscaloosa City School System for twenty-five years. My BA is in studio art and I have a Masters in Art Education. I have studied art and art history around the world. I teach at Northridge High School in Alabama. Roll Tide!

This school year is my seventeenth year of teaching Elementary Art. I also teach at Mark Twain Elementary. I like all aspects of art and therefore chose to pursue three separate Bachelor of Arts degrees majoring in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, and Art Education and minoring in Art History. This has allowed me to be a more diverse teacher and artist. I want my students to have this well-rounded education in the art classroom as well by learning about art in a variety of ways.

My husband and I have three sons. I love traveling, reading, and eating great food. I have tried to remain active as an artist outside of the classroom as well. In my free time I really enjoy painting, printmaking, and photography. As a mom to three boys I also love all things outdoors. We love hiking, fishing, boating, and playing Hockey.

My mission and goal as a teacher is to help each student come to realize that they are an incredible human being and they can do anything the put their mind to. I set very high standards for my students no only as an artist, but also as a life-long learner. I will try to the best of my ability to guide your child to meet and exceed these standards. I want students not only to gain a better understanding of art, but also a better understanding of themselves.

Derica Sisung

I am Blissfield Elementary Schools DK-5th Grade Visual Arts Educator! I am excited to utilize Artsonia as a means to bring recognition to the amazing talent I have in my classroom!

Holly Wolf-Mattick

The Prairie School (Racine, WI)

I combine my love of glass and learning by teaching and managing the glass studio at the Prairie School, a private K-12 independent school. I have the unique position of teaching Primary School, Middle School, and Upper School Art and enjoy exploring a variety of materials and processes with the PS students and my glass specialty with MS and US students. Cross-curricular projects are particularly rewarding and offer students an early experience in the glassblowing studio through science and poetry collaborations.

I have explored various glassworking processes since my first gather of hot glass in 1995. After receiving a BFA in ceramics from Washington University in St. Louis in May 1997, I completed an MFA in sculpture/glass at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in May 2002. I enjoy creating a variety of glasswork, from small works to public installations.
